ASM – ARRC
Spec Miata
Per the 2007 Regional Spec Miata rules (which requires no specific
tire be used). In addition, drivers accepting entry to
the National Runoffs in Spec Miata are not eligible to compete
in the ARRC sprint races in ASM.Those drivers WOULD
be able to enter ASM in the Pro-IT and/or Enduro events.They
can also enter ITA or SSM for the sprint races (if legal for
those classes) as well.
Club Ford
There are actually three classes of “Club Fords” at
the 2007 ARRC. All must conform to the 2007 GCR and Category
specs for Formula Ford and use “hard” tires – Hoosier
60, Goodyear 600, American Racer, or Dunlop treaded tires.
CF – ’84 and earlier FF with outboard suspension
on at least one axle.
CFX – ’84 and earlier FF except Swift DB-1 and
derivatives.
FFX – any FF as long as it’s running the hard
tires.
CFC – Club
Formula Continental
1995 and earlier cars that conform to the 2007 GCR and Category
specs for Formula Continental.
DSP – Daytona
Sports Prototype
Cars built for the GrandAm DP class and homologated by SCCA
in ASR.
GTA – Grand
Touring America
Road racing stock cars prepared to the GTA section of the 2008
SEDIV Regional Class rules.
ITO – Improved
Touring Over
Known elsewhere as “ITE”, this is an Atlanta Region
class for “larger” production-based cars racing
on DOT-legal tires that are prepared for series other than
the SCCA’s Improved Touring category. Must have
IT level safety equipment. Examples include cars prepared
for Speed World Challenge GT, Firestone Firehawk, PCA and BMWCCA
club racing series, NASA American Iron, Factory Five Cobras,
Camaro/Mustang Challenge, etc. Per the ITO section
of the 2008
SEDIV Regional Class rules.
ITT – Improved
Touring Truck
This is an Atlanta Region class introduced for the SCCA RaceTrucks
(mini pickups) that ran in the late 1980s and early '90s. Trucks
are prepped to IT levels but with a few additions: gutted head
light assemblies, removal of bumpers, battery relocation, polycarbonate
rear windows, etc. The ITT
rules can be found at the Atlanta

ITU – Improved
Touring Under
An Atlanta Region class for “smaller” production-based
cars racing on DOT-legal tires that are prepared for series
other than the SCCA’s Improved Touring category. Must
have IT level safety equipment. Examples include cars
prepared for Speed World Challenge Touring, VW Rabbit Cup,
NASA Honda Challenge, etc.
IT7 – Improved
Touring 7
First generation (1979-1985) RX-7s with a 12A engine that are
prepared to the current ITA regulations. May run any
tire allowed by IT rules (i.e. – no spec tire).
SPO – Super
Production Over
Cars conforming to the GCR rules for Super Production with
engines 2500cc and larger. All Super Production cars
with turbocharged or supercharged engines also fall into SPO.

SPU – Super
Production Under
Cars conforming to the GCR rules
for Super Production with normally aspirated engines 2499cc
and smaller. Per the SPU section of the 2008
SEDIV Regional Class rules.
SRX – Spec
RX-7
Another popular theme on a "spec" first-generation
RX-7 formula. Originally introduced by the Washington DC Region,
variations of the class have quickly caught on across the country.
Limited preparation allowed. Rules may be found at the Washington
DC Region website.
SSM – Showroom
Spec Miata
SSM was conceived as an entry-level Regional class
with emphasis on simplicity, equality and low cost. More
restrictive than Spec Miata, this class is popular in the
NEDIV. Rules may be found at the Washington
DC Region website.
TCC – Touring
Corvette Challenge
Running
as a “race
within a race”, third, fourth and fifth generation Corvettes
specifically participating in the Touring Corvette Challenge
series. Must meet all ITO safety requirements.
