PARKING
PROCESS
-
All competitors
will be assigned paddock space to ensure efficient use of paved
paddock area.
-
It is unnecessary
to arrive before opening and wait in line. Parking is
NOT first come, first served. Test Day participants
and competitors that park at the same location for every event
are parked first. It’s quicker. There is a method to this
madness.
-
It is helpful
for competitors to get set up in a way that allows others to
come in and begin setting up also. Move along quickly.
-
Street
cars and tow vehicles are not to be parked in unused paddock
space at any time. Don’t necessitate us
hunting you down to move your vehicle, so the next trailer
may be parked.
-
Motor homes not towing
trailers create a challenge. Additional paddock space is
not allocated. The typical parking location is on the grass
behind the Gas Station.
-
Parking
begins at 5 PM on the day prior to test day and is usually
available (bad weather can be an exception) until 10PM the
day and on test day prior to an event. Track opens and parking begins at
7AM on test day.
PADDOCK LAYOUT
-
Roads and parking
areas are outlined in white lime lines.
-
Crew parking
is located in an area on the right entering
the paddock and across from the Restroom building.
-
Trailer parking
areas are created to accommodate specific length vehicles.
-
The “front
row” (first row on the left entering the
paddock) is 80’ long and designated for semi truck/trailers.
-
Enclosed trailers
are parked in rows that make the best use of space. In
other words, short trailers are in short rows. An attempt
is made to accommodate competitors wanting to park together with
different size trailers.
-
Space may be
saved for a fellow competitor, but they must know and agree ahead
of time, and will be expected to park in the saved space. Make
agreements before arriving at the track.
-
Toter homes
are usually parked on the skid pad.
-
No open trailers
are allowed to occupy space on the pavement.
-
Open trailers
may be parked in the grass around the edge of the paved paddock.
An attempt is made to accommodate these competitors in the paddock
space along the grass.
-
Open trailer
parking area is found by driving all the way down the hill through
the paved paddock, across a small creek and in the grass. Open
trailer parking on pavement does not exist. Do not park
open trailers on the pavement before crossing the creek.
-
Space is limited.
Canopies larger than a 10’ x 10’ popup,
or similar, must accommodate multiple cars. A large
canopy will not be allowed that is wastefully in excess of
the number of racecars. Be prepared.
-
Electricity
is limited and shared. There are no RV hook ups.

PADDOCK
ETIQUETTE
-
Noisy construction
type generators are not welcome. Bring a quiet one.
-
A noise shield
for your generator is encouraged. Be creative.
-
Generators
must be located in owner’s paddock space; not your neighbor’s
space.
-
Keep all of
your stuff (street cars, body work, vehicles, etc.) in your paddock
space.
SAFETY
-
Paddock roads
are to remain clear to enable free flow of traffic and access
by emergency vehicles.
-
Handle inflammable
products with care. A careless fire could result in tragedy
for multiple entrants.
-
Watch your
children at all times.
-
Play smart
during the ARRC weekend.
DETAILS
-
There are always
exceptions to these guidelines based on oddity of the situation
and experience. If curious, ask for an explanation.
-
Lengthy persistent
disagreements or blatant noncompliance with the guidelines can
result in unfavorable consequences.
-
Personnel working
the Road Atlanta gates are “messengers” of the rules;
treat them with kindness.
-
If you want
to participate with the parking process, help is always welcome.
- For information
at the track, come to the Atlanta Region Paddock site located
on the corner of the main paddock road and road to Tech.
